Passing Terms:
P0 (P Zero) Direct Pass
behind the defenses backline; typically aerial and diagonal
P1 (P One) Direct Pass that
splits the lines/blocks; Can split more than one defensive blocks
P2 (P Two) Pass around
the defense; Typically 3 and sometime 4 player combinations
P3 (P Three) Pass that
keeps position; Pass is sideways or negative in direction. Think pass to Goalkeeper
Channels on the
field:
Outside Channel is
from edge of 18 yard box to touch line
Inside Channel is from edge of 18
yard box to Near Post of Goal
Central Channel is
width of Goal only
Notes: Channels run
entire length of field.
Seams Between the
Defensive lines/Blocks
Seam 1 Area between their attackers
and their midfielders
Seam 2 Area between their midfielders
and their defenders/back line
Seam 3 Area between their defenders
and the Goalkeeper
Example
of how terms will be used and in combinations:
Old: Defense is swinging ball and
passer sees D-Mid (#6 or #8) show between their attackers and pass is made to
D-mid by our Right Back.
New: P3 passing
swinging ball; #2 makes P1 pass into Seam 1 to HCM!
