Welcome to Killingly Intermediate School. This is my 9th year here at KIS. I have had the opportunity to teach PE and Health to children all over the state. As physical educator I like to teach lessons that incorporate a wide range of activities and topics so every child can develop an appreciation of life long activity and lead a healthy lifestyle.
Our PE department prides itself with having the opportunity to offer such a variety of fitness related activities to our students. While we enjoy the great outdoors we take our students on a journey through the development sports related skills as well as, promoting cooperation, problem solving and team building activities . Our outdoor units may include soccer, frisbee, football, softball, lacrosse and exciting yet challenging fitness stations.
Since the weather can dictate what we teach we have a large selection of indoor skills, games and activities. With a change of clothes and sneakers our students can enjoy the skills and activities of basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, handball, badminton and pickle ball. KIS also has large fitness room. Inside the fitness room we teach our students about weight training, cardiovascular endurance, spotting techniques and bosu fitness.
Our PE department is filled with outgoing and passionate educators that are eager to teach each student. I look forward to teaching your children everyday!!!
I also teach 8th grade Health. We discuss topics such as mental and emotional health, alcohol, tobacco, drugs/current influences, stress/anxiety and body systems. We also enjoy speaking about current events/influences/issues that affect these students lives everyday.
