For as long as I can remember, teaching has brought me joy. As a child, I can vividly remember playing school and writing in my journal about my dream to be a teacher. When I was old enough, I spent my summers as a camp counselor at a local day camp. Later, I went to Assumption College in Worcester where a received my BA in Psychology and my teaching certification for grades K-6. I came back to this area after graduation, in order to give back to my community and become an elementary teacher. Although it took some time for me to find the right age and grade, I had several experiences that led me to the right place. I had the pleasure of working in fifth grade and first grade before discovering and falling in love with kindergarten. I worked at Killingly Memorial School as a kindergarten teacher for 15 years. It brought me great happiness to teach so many wonderful children how to read and write and become independent people! After this, I had an opportunity to expand my own professional learning and became an instructional coach at Goodyear Early Childhood Center. This position provided me with a wealth of new learning around our youngest students, while simultaneously beginning my journey into Administration at Sacred Heart University where I have received my 092.

My passion as an educator has always been early childhood, and Killingly Central School’s unique configuration of preschool through grade one has provided me with an opportunity to work with students and families during the most critical learning years. I am looking forward to our partnership!
