COVID-19 Response
COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019)
This page is designed to provide our community an update in regards to the district’s ongoing preparedness in response to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), a respiratory illness first identified in China. Killingly Public Schools has a district plan in place that would be followed in the event of a widespread pandemic which includes the possibility of an extended school closing.
We are in consistent communication with the Northeast District Department of Health, as well as monitoring updates each day on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.
In the coming weeks there are several school related field trips planned within Connecticut and in other states. The Northeast District Department of Health and our district’s medical advisor has shared there are currently no restrictions on domestic travel and no reason to cancel domestic field trips. However, this is a very fluid situation and information is being updated daily. We recognize that in the event of a health or safety concern, a trip may be cancelled. We remain alert for any new travel recommendations the CDC and local officials may issue.
This site will be updated on a regular basis with information received from Northeast Department of Public Health (SCPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
