Mike EddySTEMRoom #139Welcome to STEM
Stem stand for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. In STEM we will be working with the engineering design process as we develop our problem solving skills. Through careful planning, successful communication and teamwork we will take on a diverse set of challenges throughout the semester. Along the way we will spend time exploring the many field of engineering and how the technology they both use and develop influences our world. To begin the year 6th and 7th graders were challenged to build a device that stayed in the air as long as possible and lands in a ring approximately 10 feet from them, 8th graders used knowledge they are learning about bridges to design a tower (using 50 straws and 2 meters of tape) that can hold a ball as high off the table as they can. From developing prosthetic limbs to coding and programing robots your imagination is the limit in this classroom.
