I think it has all the makings of another wonderful year. My name is Eric Bryant and I am a School Counselor for the 5th and 8th grades at KIS.
I am an avid fan of all Boston Sports (Go Sox!). I love to play soccer, basketball, board games, card games, and video games. I enjoy kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, running and spending time with my beautiful family (especially with sons AJ and Ethan.) I am a weekly viewer of several TV shows, including Arrow, Supernatural, The Universe and Dr. Who. I love the Harry Potter series and The Wheel of Time series written by Robert Jordan.
As a school counselor I believe that it is my primary goal to promote and enhance student learning through three broad areas of student development: academic, career, and personal/social. In order to facilitate this process for all students, it is my belief that having guidance classes, developing small groups on different topics, and seeing some kids individually should be in place. Through this program a counselor would be able to attend to student's issues in a proactive and preventative manner. Therefore, the counselor would be able to assist in acquiring and using life-long learning skills, facilitate strategies to enhance academics, encourage self-awareness, foster interpersonal communication skills, and impart life success skills for all students.
