Standard Device Issuances: Administrators, Faculty, and many types of Staff will be issued a standard type of computing device by the KPS-IT Department upon confirmation of hire by the Central Office. The issuances follow this basic plan:

• Administrators/District Coordinators: Choice of Macbook Pro 16”, or HP Elitebook laptop (14 or 15”)
• Secretaries: HP Elitebook laptop, or HP Elitedesk Desktop (depending on role/recommendation by administrator)
• Nurses: HP Elitebook laptop (head nurse), or HP Elitedesk Desktop (all others)
• Teachers: Macbook Air 13”
• Full-time Paraprofessionals and Tutors: Chromebook
• Subs: Unless defined as a long-term sub (>1 month), no device issued*.
• Bus aids, custodians, etc: No device under standard issuance*.
• Other part-time staff: No device under standard issuance*.

* Note: If a positional device need falls outside of this general plan, please make a note of it when a recommendation for hire is submitted to HR, or contact Christian directly to ensure the user gets the device they need to complete their work.

All applications and software purchased by the district have gone through an evaluation and approval process, examining application function and privacy policy, and ensuring that such software abides by CT Student Data Privacy Laws (PA 16-189). The list provided below includes all software that has undergone this vetting process. If you are looking to purchase a new piece of software for the district, please submit a ticket for review by the Director of Information Technology.

In cases where a building cannot identify an existing on-site teacher or staff member for A/V support (such as a music teacher, or librarian), outside support may be available. This type of Audio-Visual Support can be broken down into two categories: Set-Up Only, and Active Support.

Set-Up Only: For these types of setups, your on-site KPS-IT Tech may be able to assist or coordinate with the setup given ample notification, and so long as the setup can occur during normal business hours (8-3PM). Please use the Facilities Use Request form, as well as an IT ticket to submit these requests. Same-day or last-minute requests (<48 hours) may not be covered, please plan accordingly.

Active Support: For more involved setups that require an on-site person to run audio/visual equipment during the proposed event, there is a third-party agency we can contact that provides advanced A/V support and service. However, due to the logistics and complexity sometimes involved with these events, there is a fee associated with this work. For all active support events, a Facilities Use Request and IT Ticket will need to be submitted with detailed information about the event at least 30 days in advance. With this information, IT will review the request, and, based on availability of A/V technicians, we will procure a quote to run the event.

Please note: event support is not guaranteed until confirmed through IT and the Facility Use Request.
